Fig S1: A platform dedicated to suburban style living. Each block contains 5 homes with their personal lots sharing communal space. The central structure would have local shops and community center on the lowest level, the upper levels would be condominiums and/or apartments. Although all of the houses in this model are the same, there would be more variety in the designs. Note all of the green areas denote lawn/garden space.
Fig S2: A sidewalk view of a suburban housing platform. The limitations of the Google Sketchup program used to make this model kept me from using more plantings, or using models of bicycles, lamps, etc.
